The Crown Update

I have so much that I would like to talk about. I barely know where to begin. Since this blog was originally began on the topic of hair I figure I should start there.

so let us begin. As I said in my last post I am officially 2 years natural. I in no way regret mydecision to go natural. It was and still is a liberating experience. Now I have had my ups amd downs. Mainly right now I am kind of overwhelmed by those pesky knots on my strands. I do also get frustrated with my hair bit thats something that comes with the territory of having hair on your head period. As far as a regimen I don't have one. I always try to make a schedule but it doesnt work out. Now I think I am probably washing my hair every two weeks. Lately I've been doing mini twist. I usually wear those for a week then wear them untwisted for another week. Depending on my scalp I might wash my hair like a day or two before I untwist my hair. That is basically it. I used to just do a regular twist out but I always ended up wearing a headband. so I decided to do the mini twist as a way to give my edges a break from the headbands. I admit I wear the headbands sometimes when I work out though.

So since I am 3 years into my healthy hair journey, and 2 years into my natural journey the pj phase is long gone. Not to say thay I don't want to try new things. Trust and believe I do bit I used to have to buy every item exactly when I wanted it. Now as long as I have some conditioner, moisturizer, and oil then I'm good. I actually gave away a ton of my hair products before I moved. I eventually want to get into mpre natural products but for now I focus on what is accessible to me. So here are the products I have been using the most:

L-R African Pride Olive Miracle Moisturizer Lotion, Suave Tropical Coconut Conditioner, Now Sweet Almond Oil, and Pompeian Extra Virgin Olive Oil

As I've said before these products are what I have been using consistently. They are not staples in any way.  Granted I can find an accessible place to find sweet almond oil that will become a staple. I might make the olive oil too for mixing purposes. I do love the AP Moisture Lotion and if my switch to more natural products doesnt work out I will consider making this a staple. Next are products I have used every now and then:

L-R ORS Olive Oil Moisturizing Hair Lotion, ORS Replenishing Conditioner, Wild Growth Hair Oil, Cantu Leave In Conditioning Repair Cream, Mixed Silk by Silk Elements Nourishing Deep Conditioner, Let's Jam Shining & Conditioning Gel, Aphogee Pro-Vitamin Leave In Conditioner, Sammy Get Curls Curl Activating Lotion, Aphogee Deep Moisture Shampoo

I'm not too crazy about the ORS hair lotion. I usually use it mixed up with something. I only got it because it was accessible and cheap. The ORS conditioner was my go to deep conditioner for a long time. Now that I'm fully natural I don't use it as much. My hair needs more moisture but protein once in a while helps. As far as the wild Growth Oil I try to use it with my mini twist but forget. Most of the time I use it in a conditioner mix. I got the cantu because it was accessible and to temporary take place of my African Pride moisturizer. I've used it in the past so I got it again. I love the consistency but for some reason when I used it before putting in mini twist my hair didn't like it as much. I think because my hair was semi dry. I noticed it works better when it is applied to my hair when its wet. I decided to try the Mixed Silk deep conditioner since I don't like to use my ORS one as much. I actually like this conditioner for the most part. The first time I used it, it did leave my hair soft Despite that I probably will try something else one it runs out. For the most part I use the Let's Jam for most of my twist outs. It keeps my hair conditioned for a good little while. Also it makes taking my twist out a breeze.I did experiment and used the Sammy activating lotion on one of my mini twist. By day two I had to unravel my twist because they were far too frizzy. However the twist out was actually amazing. Now for the aphogee products. I only got the shampoo to replace my ORS clarifying shampoo. I wanted to get something a little more moisturizing. Its a good shampoo but I rarely use shampoo other then to clarify so it sort of defeats the purpose of me buying it. The pro-vitmain leave in is good. I mix it with olive oil and spray my hair once I finish washing my hair.
I didn't want this post to be this long. I planned to post some pictures of my hair, but I will save that for another time!
Peace, Love, & Blessings~

I've Decided To Enjoy My Life!

So this post is kind of on the coat tale of the oh so fabulous Sunshine! Now I have been raised in the church since I was a little wee one. Even though now at the tender age of 23 I admit I don't go to church like I should. However my years of church has embedded in me that God has my life planned out and is in complete control of it. On top of that he does allow me the free will to make my own decision and uses those decisions I make as a direction to accomplish his will for my life. That being said I actually have to make decisions and be proactive in my life. God doesn't want me just sitting in the house being miserable talking about how my life isn"t going anywhere. God cant place someone in my path to bless me if I spend all my time behind closed doors.
So I'm taking a tip from Sunshine and enjoying my life. That was the whole point of me reading the Artist's Way. Which by the way I have completely abandoned but do plan to eventually start reading again. It's so crazy though how time passes by so fast ad I seem to be so busy but end up accomplishing absolutely nothing. It seems like I spend all my time doing things I like and not things that I love. So I'm going to slowly start incorporating some of the Artist's Way principles back in my life. The funny thing about that is the hardest thing about the Artist's Way way was the artist date. I could do everything but that it was insane how diffucult it was for me to take myself on date it's so crazy.
Anyway today I decided or rather my mother decided to treat me to a spinach and artichoke souffle from Panera. OMG! This was my first souffle ever and I am so in love!

I have so much more to post, but I promised myself to devote some time to my songs I've been writing. So I will definitely be posting again very soon! I have so much to say I can barely hold it in. Anyway as always peace, love, and blessings!!!

Quick Hair Update

So I haven't been devoting as much time to my hair in my last few post as I should be. Not that this is going to be a significant post either. I Had attempted to do a length check last week before I washed my hair. The pictures didn't turn out like I wanted so I eventually gave up. I can say my hair is to my collarbone. So that is exciting. This year alone has passed so fast that I will be 2years natural in no time.
I had been wearing a sew in for about a month so I could leave my hair alone. It was getting to the point that I was getting scissor happy with my hair. I has grown quite a bit. Unfortunately my patience is thin after the sew in so instead of letting my hair condition over night I tried to detangle right away and ended up trimming a portion of my crown off. Now that my hair has gotten longer I can no longer wash and go like I used too. I can still wash and go technically but due to the length of my hair I need to find a new technique.
These last two weeks I have been doing two strand twist. Which was my go to style before my sew in. I used to fluff my hair when I took the twist out, now I just let the twist be. I haven"t really adjusted my regimen since my hair got longer so that is something I need to do asap. I've just been winging it, but I don't think my hair cares for that too much. That's what I need to do this week, work on my regimen and try to find some new styles to try.
My original plan was after I took the sew in out to get my hair pressed. Now I think I should wait for the new year. Plus I "plan" to get my hair colored a reddish tone whenever I builed up the courage to do it.

Anyway that is it for now so Peace, Love, & Blessings as always!

My life is insanity..but nothing has changed.

I always say I'm going to write more every time I make a post. I'm not even going to lie anymore. i want to post more, but I don"t know what the future holds for me.

Anyway lets get into it. I seriously was going to post an update 2 weeks ago but my Blackberry was not having it. I just had this random though the other day after looking on my facebook. My old bestie was talking about how she was going to sacrifice her dream to so she could better provide for her children. Which is totally understandable. I was just wondering though is it better to sacrifice your dream for a financially stable life that makes you miserable. On the other hand wouldn't a parent want their children to pursue their dreams no matter what as opposed to giving them up. I truly believe if you follow your dreams the money will come to you as opposed to you chasing money. Just wondering.

On the other hand let me get back to my life. So for a year I have been saving up money so I could move to California. I've also been looking for jobs and applying like crazy. Unfortunately I have yet to find anything. I have been quite discouraged about that. I have been trying so hard and nothing is happened. Then I start to think maybe I should stay here, but everything here is pushing me a way. I decided to stop looking for work about 2 months ago and take a break to figure out what I really need to do. Between work and family driving me crazy all I really want to do is leave as soon as possible. I see so many people who have given up on their dreams here and I don't want to be like that. Just existing not truly living and enjoying life. I hope to be an inspiration to people in my family to wake up and live life. Whether you believe in reincarnation or not this will be the only time in this specific life that we have to get it right. So I am trying my best to keep my self afloat because I can't waste my life regretting that I didn't live my life the way I want to.

Anyway that is it for now. As always peace, love, and blessings!

Obsessed!

Okay I didn't write in the time frame I said i would, but I'm trying. I've been trying to keep myself occupied and just seemed to have failed at time management. I mean don't get me wrong I get to work on time. I get there so early i usually make coffee and have time to fix myself a bowl of oatmeal. Which oatmeal leads me to the title of this post. I've been compiling just a few things I've become obsessed with lately.

1. Coffee Ice Cream

Photobucket

I first had this in 6'th grade at my best friend's house at the time. It was so good. I didn't particularly care for coffee at the time either. Now I love coffee. I don't allow myself to drink it much because it can be habit forming. So this is how I get my fix on off days. Even though I did eat this twice last week before bed and had no problem sleeping. I think they may use decaffinated coffee. Plus if you like Frappe's this is a way cheaper alternative. You get like 10 times the serving and it basically tastes the same to me.

2. Doritos Flamas

Photobucket

I had been seeing these at the store but never picked up a bag to try until about 2 weeks ago from Walgreens. The lime was really the only reason I got them. I'm not really crazy about hot chips. They are good but they don't make me jump for joy. So yeah these bad boys are hot. They are so good though I couldn't just eat one. First the heat gets you and at the end you taste the hint of lime. They are soooo good!!!

3. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
By: Stieg Larsson

Photobucket

I know this book is extremely popular right now. I hate to say that I fell into the hype and hopped on the bandwagon. I originally started reading this book about 3 or 4 months ago. I originally purchased the digital copy for my reader, but since no electronics are allowed on the floor at my job I had to get a physical book as well. So I read a few chapters and finally gave up. It's a really good book but totally different from what I usually read. Then I went to the movies to see X-Men First class and I saw the movie trailer. For some reason it got me pumped up to read the book again. So everyday I try to squeeze in a few pages. It's worth all the hype you just have to keep reading!

4. The Little Things(They Are Actually Huge If You Pay Attention)

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Life will pass you by if you don't pay attention. I don't remember where I got that from but it is so true. Life is full of beautiful things. Some times we just have to stop and marvel at all the amazing things God has put on this earth. It is so easy to get caught up in things that are superficial. I've been trying my best to thank God for all he has created by actually acknowledging it. These are just a few pictures that my camera phone did no justice in capturing their beauty. Lately the sky here has been so beautiful. Just a few days ago there was a beautiful red moon in the sky. I just had to marvel at it's beauty. My phone felt it was the perfect time to shut off and refused to take a picture though.

So that is what I'm obsessed with now. Pretty soon I will be obsessed with the new season of True Blood that starts in a few hours. So let me get some reading in before it gets to late! As always peace, love, and blessings!!!

I am back! For real this time!

There is no point excusing my absence. I have had much on my mind and though it is better to express those things I held them inside. Now I'm in a better mind space and ready to let it all out. I have been trying to focus on my songwriting but life has gotten in the way and I haven't been able to allow myself the time to dedicate to writing. I'm always trying to make myself a better person. So during this time that I've been away I have been trying to work on myself spiritually. So I will explain what I've been doing since I obviously haven't been writing.

PhotobucketAs it says it's a course in not only discovering your creativity but also helps recovering your creativity. I originally heard about the "morning pages" on a video I saw on YouTube. So after hearing about the pages I started doing them. Then the next week I decided to get the book to see what other ideas were in it to help my creativity. This book is amazing. This is a 12 week course and I stopped at week 9, because I just had so many thing going on. Even though I have temporarily taken a break from the course I still do my morning pages and I intend on starting the course again eventually. The author Julia Cameron also has 2 more books that go along with this course as well. I will definitely be getting those when I finish the book. For more books I've been reading you can check out my profile for Good Reads in the the links on the right side of the blog.---->

So next is what I've been doing with my hair since that was the original purpose of the blog. I haven't done anything special to be honest. At first I did a wash and go everyday. Now I am way to lazy to wash my hair everyday. My hair has grown a lot despite my profile picture I have cut my hair twice. I'm going to hold off on doing that for now. I have crazy shrinkage so my hair shrinks up and looks 20x shorter then it actually is. All I've been doing lately are twist outs. I was supposed to twist my hair today, I don't feel like it so i may actually do a wash and go tomorrow. Hopefully I get to leave work early tomorrow and twist it then. The thing I love about twists outs are I only have to do my hair once a week. That way when I get up in the morning all I have to do is maybe wet my hair and shake it and go. I have tried the oh so famous Kinky Curly.

Photobucket

I've tried everything except the Gloss Pomade. I like the products. The only problems I have is for my hair it is time consuming. Not only that the products are expensive and not widely available. Not only do I have to pay an arm and a leg for the products I have to drive all the way on the opposite side of town. As far as the custard it smell soooooo good like candy and cake. I experimented once and used the shampoo and the conditioner, but instead of using the curling custard I used this:
PhotobucketSo instead of paying $16 on a 8oz jar of curling custard you can get 32oz of this for under $5. Another good thing about Kinky Curly is that they are cruelty free and organic. So of course organic products and foods are more expensive. There is so much irony in the fact that you have to pay more for organic(products without chemicals) as compared to products that are not organic(products that have chemicals and pesticides). I may no buy anymore of the curling custard but I love the conditioner. I can do without the shampoo but I will most likely buy it again.

I think it's best to end this post here. I have soo much more to say but I need to save some for later post (like a haul from the NYX Anniversary sale last month)! As always peace love and blessings~

Makeup MANIA+HAUL

When I'm into something I am really into it. I get obsessive over it and cant stop. Then one day it just ends. This is not that time. I am going crazy over makeup now. I don't wear it often so I have a lot to learn. Even though I'm still learning I want to have a LOT of options. So here is all of the makeup I recently purchased.

First up is my Manly 120 palette I purchased from eBay
Photobucket
Photobucket
It also came with a free eyeshadow brush which I almost threw away because I forgot about it. That is also why it is not pictured because it was in the trash at that time.lol I thought it would be cheap feeling but its actually good quality and very soft.

Next are my Urban Decay products. Got each on sale for $2 @HauteLook
Photobucket
Powder Brush, Big Fatty Colored Mascara(Indigo, Flipside, Electric Blue, and Black Cherry)

The next pics are all my NYX stuff I just got this week.
Photobucket
Ultra Pearl Mania(Fanta, True Purple, Jade, Yellow, Very Pink, Orange Zest, Turquoise, and not shown is Space since it hasn't arrived yet)

Photobucket
Jumbo Eye Pencil(Pure Gold, Electric Blue, Milk, Rocky Mountain Green, Purple Velvet)

Photobucket
Slim Eye Pencil(Electric Blue, Purple, Yellow, Baby Pink, Acid Green)

I may do some swatches on my next post. I have a lot of looks I want to try out this weekend so I will definitly be experimenting with everything I've got. I also want to buy some new containers to put the loose pearl shadows in. I think I may chill out on the shadow buying but I am looking for a new eye shadow primer. I basically use mary kay's primer in conjunction with my maybelline cool effect liner. The Mary Kay primer alone doesn't work well for me. Mine is from a few years back so maybe their format has change. I know the packaging has so I'll definitely look into that. Anyway that is it for now. Peach, Love & Many Blessings!

Happy New YEAR! ++Another Haul

Happy New Year!
Hasn't been a month yet and I'm making another post. Lets hope i can keep this up.
I haven't made a resolution. I just want to be the best me that I can be, and just grow and mature as much as possible.

Anyway to the hair! So since I've been natural I have rocked my fro probably 98% of the time. Maybe twice I rocked the curly look by way of kinky curly products. Which I love but when I use those products its so time consuming for me. I know it will probably get better over time. Anyway my friend told me about twisting my hair with some jam. So on Christmas Eve I stayed up all night twisting my hair. I originally planned to rock those for a few days. I didn't make them neat enough to do that. So i ended up taking them out the next day which was Christmas. I got soo many compliments. It was crazy. It made my hair so curly and cute. I rocked that style up until yesterday. Which leads me to my staples at the moment:
Photobucket
I use the Curl-Perfecting Spray to refresh my twist. I use the Frizz-Ease Kinky Curly Spiral Spritz mostly to lay my edges down. It's really light compared to gels. I usually put the Herbal Essence None Of Your Frizzness as my leave in.
In a few weeks I will be heading to California so I plan on getting either braids or kinky twist put in to give my hair a break from manipulation.

I have another haul from BBW. It probably seems like that is my favorite store but it is just a phase. When I love something I go crazy for it or even overboard then it eventually dies off. Anyway to the pictures:
Photobucket
Photobucket
I also picked up some earring from Papaya. They sort of remind me of some Betsey Johnson ones I've seen before.
Photobucket

So that's it so far. Hopefully I can keep this up. Peace, Love, & Many Blessings!

The Wait Is OVER! ++HAUL TIME

Long time no blog. I've had soooo much going on the last year. I though I posted more then I did. Anyway!!! To the good stuff!

I did my BIG CHOP on July 18th. I had to look at a calender thought I did it in August for some reason. Doesn't feel like it's been 5 months. My hair is growing fast. most likely because I really dont do a lot with it. I wash it every morning. Well technically co-wash it and once in a while I'll use shampoo if needed. Then I put in a leave in, a moisturizer, and sometimes oil and go. Since winter is here I really want to stop doing the wash and go. Still it's so easy. On top of that it is cold one day here and hot the next so that is not helping. I'm heading to Cali next month for my b-day so I'll get either twist or braids done.

Speaking of Cali!!! I will actually be moving there next summer. Hopefully!! I had a family emergency which required me to drain my savings. Don't mind doing that for my family, but I do hope I can move by next summer. I'm ready to go now. The economy is so bad there though that it does scare me. If it's God's will I'm sure I'll be there either way.

Anyway enough about that stuff it's HAUL TIME!

I've fallen in LOVE with Bath & Body Works again. I used to love them years ago, but fell off the wagon the last few years. Now I'm back on track and cant seem to stop buying there stuff. Next week they are having a sale on there classics. I have to stock up on my White Tea & Ginger.
Now to sum up my last few B&BW Trips:
Photobucket
Sensual Amber: Travel Size Fragrance Mist
Warm Vanilla Sugar: Fragrance Mist, Body Cream
Moonlight Path: Body Cream
Victoria's Secret PINK: Body Lotion & Travel Size Body Mist (Sweet & Flirty, Soft & Dreamy)
Secret Wonderland: Shower Gel, Body Lotion, Body Cream
Midnight Pomegranate: Shower Gel, Body Lotion, Body Cream
Butterfly Flower: Shower Gel, Body Lotion

Next is just a small Drugstore Haul.
I went to get a foundation and a facial brush cleaner but couldn't find a brush.
Photobucket
Garnier Nutritioniste: Skin Renew The Brusher
Milani: Even-Tone Powder Foundation
Nivea: A Kiss Of Milk & Honey

This will be my first time using foundation. I hope when I do full coverage the color works for me. I tested it out on a scar I have and it looked decent. I only purchase the Garnier because it was on sale and had a brush, so hopefully that works out too. Being that it is Christmas time I will definitely be coming back with more Haul pictures. I ordered a 120 palette last week. Yesterday I ordered 3 NYX lipglosses, and today I ordered 4 Urban Decay mascaras and a powder brush. So until next time Peace, Love, & Blessings

Ok I'm not dead!

Quite a while since I've posted anything on here. I've been so busy with work. When I'm not at work I'm most likely sleeping. Anyway lets get to why I'm really here.

As I said in my last post I wasn't sure when I would go back to my hairdresser. I think I went back after like 6 weeks. Haven't been back since. My hair still didn't get STRAIGHT when I went back for my relaxer so I'm now thinking about going back to transitioning again. I plan on getting my hair braided tomorrow. Hopefully the rest of the year my hair will be either twisted or braided. If things go well by the end of the year I'll just go right ahead and chop the relaxed hair off.

Even though I have yet to find a regimen for relaxed hair that I felt comfortable with I did manage to wash my hair once a week. I also deep conditioned once a week as well. I am still a PJ so I've purchased quite a bit since I last posted I'll have to update the purchases I made next time. I guess with keeping my hair braided up I most likely won't need those products until I start rocking my hair out again.

Anyway that is it for now. Peace, Love & Blessings~

What is up? Quick Update

So it has been a minute since my last post. I had to do a lot of thinking. I needed to think about where I really wanted to go as far as my hair was concerned. I really wanted to be natural. I just could see myself with my little kiddie way in the future with a cute fro. That still may be the case but however I decided to get a relaxer. I got so fed up. It was getting to the point where I was seeming to losing way too much hair. It seem no matter how good I would detangle my hair the next day it would be like I never did it. So I let go of my natural dream. For now at least.

So yes I brought 2010 in with straight hair. Which I'm actually happy about. The only thing is I need to find a new regimen for relaxed hair instead of transitioning hair. I've noticed a lot of my moisturizers have water in them. Which I don't mind but since I need to buy myself a hooded dryer and roller-setting is temporarily out of the question i don't want any reverting. My hairdresser is thinking I'll be getting relaxers every 4 weeks and that i'll be coming to her every two weeks. She is sadly mistaken. I'm going to try to continue to stretch my relaxers as long as possible. I made it 6 months without a relaxer so I have no desire to go back to that. The only thing was that this relaxer was last minute so I had actually washed my hair the night before. Which means I couldn't keep the relaxer on for as long as needed. So my hair technically isn't as straight as it could be. So I'm sort of unsure of when exactly I want to go back. Especially because she got crazy with the heat as well. I technically don't like my hairdresser. I miss my old one from Atlanta. She was the best my hair looked so healthy. With the one I have now it doesn't even compare. I know I should find a new one but I have no idea where to look.

Well anyway that is it for now. Peace, Love, & Blessings Everyone. Hope ya'll have a blessed New Year!

Small little update

Due to the fact that I now have a full time job I am not able to give much attention to my hair. Even though after next week training will be over and my hours will differ I still won't have much hair time. That being said for the time being I will be primarily posting on my Got LIFE? blog. So please check it out if you can. I am not abandoning this blog I just need to figure out how much time I can put towards my hair and what exactly I want to do with it. I'm strongly thinking about getting twist but have not decide as of yet. So stay tuned! I'm not going anywhere I just need some time to figure out what I really want to do with my hair.

Peace, Love, & many Blessings

The doubts continue

My doubt has not waivered. My hair isn't the only one transitioning, but my life is as well. I have a new job and it's making me question my transitioning. I will be working longer hours then my last job so I wont have as much time to put towards my hair. My hair is also starting to tangle again. It's like if I don't mess with it, I end up making up for the lack of manipulation the next day with detangling. It's so annoying. To cut down on the detangling I usually moisturize and seal my hair while it's still a little damp on my wash days. This usually cuts down on me having to do a lot of detangling later on. Well on my last wash day I was soooo tired. All I managed to put on my hair was my leave ins. After that I rapped a scarf around my head and fell out. Well despite my hair being extremely soft and just about perfect after that wash day when I got around to moisturizing and sealing the next night it was horrible. My new growth is on a whole new level. I'm just getting to the point where I have so much stuff I need to think about and don't even want to be bothered with my hair. I've been thinking about relaxing, but in the end it just makes me cringe. I've gotten this far. I'm about 4 months post and I have 5 more to go. I don't want to give up now. As soon as I relax I'll be back to square one if suddenly I want to transition again. I'm thinking the best thing to get me threw this is to either to get some braids or twist. I think as soon as I do that and just take a break from my hair I'll be alright. Hopefully my spirit will be renewd and I can get through it. Pray for me people. Anyway I'm off to work.
Peace & Love

Pushbacks...oh yeah and lets not forget doubts

So I guess I'll begin with the push back. I will once again be pushing back straightening my hair. I won't be going out of town this weekend unfortunately. I thought about flat ironing anyway but my cousin is having a 70's theme party tomorrow so I figured I'd rock some curls. I think I've learned my lesson and won't put a date on flat ironing this time. It will happen when it happens. I should be starting a new job in a few weeks so maybe I'll do it then. Though I doubt I will.

I'd also like to say despite buying my staple HBC items the other week I'm still buying stuff. Like I have no idea why I completely disregarded my 1 month no spending challenge. Like it's ridiculous. lol The sad thing about it is at this moment I have the urge to go to Ulta and look and buy some hair products. The other day I went to the a BSS here and looked into some wigs there. I'm looking for a nice cheap yet realistic wig that I can throw some berets and scarves on. Just to give my hair a break once in a while. I also to my surprise saw some JBCO. OMFG ya'll I'm so surprised I found it there. I was like 110% sure that I'd have to order that online. So yeah I will definitely be picking some up next time I go there. I actually didn't buy all that much stuff when I went there just a few hair accessories. WHich I will get to later in the post.

Now to the doubt part of the post. Well many know that a lot of people on their HHJ(Healthy Hair Journey) turn to YT for inspiration. At night when I'm moisturizing and sealing my hair I watch many videos. One fellow YTber who inspires me is Nunaavane. People she is not only inspiring because of her hair journey but also spiritually inspiring. Well the other day I watched her relaxer day video. Her progress was amazing. I started thinking maybe I should get a relaxer. I mean I want my natural hair, but at times I want straight hair too. Is that so bad? I know I can go to the Dominicans and get my hair blown out. I don't even know if there are even Dominicans here to blow my hair out if that is the case. So yeah after watching her video I started to really re think if I'm making the right decision. I don't want to cut my hair off then completely regret it. Even though I may have been super psyched before I got it cut. Uh I tell you this is such an emotional roller coaster but I'm sure w/e the decision I make in the end I will be happy with.

Finally we have this months purchases for the most part....
Photobucket
I picked up the conditioners from work.
Herbal Essence None of Your Frizziness Smoothing Conditioner
Tresemme Thermal Recovery Replenishing Conditioner
From the BSS:
3 flowers(clips/ponytail holders)
Purple Beret
(Not Shown)
Dove Intense Damage Therapy Conditioner

I was also going to pick up these cute sparkly berets but they were $8 so I decided to wait on those. They were sooo cute though. Maybe I'll go back and get them tomorrow. The only reason I got the Dove conditioner(besides the fact I'm a PJ) is I had a $2 CVS Extra Buck coupon plus a $1 coupon for a Dove Shampoo/Conditioner(from newspaper). So I basically paid .99 for it. Don't just be a PJ be one that saves people lol. I actually have another $1 coupon for the Heat Defense Therapy Shampoo/Conditioner/or Mist. I actually got that because I signed up for a sample at their website. Which is still available by the way so check their site out. Speaking of which I signed up for a sample from Joico for their humidity blocker which I still have not recieved. I was so looking forward to trying it too.

Well that is it for the time being. I think I'm going to start a new blog. I'll just keep this one hair related and my other one will be random talk I guess. Peace & Love

That time has come sooner then I thought...I THINK!

So the other day when I washed my hair I planned to detangle in the shower. I felt some tangles the day before and I had to do something about them. To be honest detangling in the shower freaks me out. I'm always afraid I'll have tons of breakage so I never fully detangle in the shower. Well after I washed and my hair was 85-90% dry I started moisturizing and sealing like usual. Well when I started I found out the true extent of my tangles. It was CRAZY! I had no idea how I could have no idea that my hair was that tangled. It was crazy. It literally took me 3 hours to do my hair. I actually made a YT video explaining the whole situation but I have yet to get around to posting it for some reason. Forgive me.
After I got all the tangles out a few days later I noticed another one. I don't know what is going on. My hair does not usually tangle like this. Which is why I THINK it may be time to BC. I don't know how it was even as easy as it was to detangle my hair. I just think the longer my hair gets the worse the tangles would be. So maybe it is best I just cut my hair off now. So on Wednesday I plan on going to this natural hair salon and seeing if they will cut my hair off. NOT YET! Eventually lol.
Oh yes let me not forget. In my last post I said I would not purchase any hair products for a month. I did however go out and buy my HB Olive Creme as well as my HB Carrot Creme. I NEEDED them. Seriously. I would have not gotten all of those tangles out had it not been for my carrot creme. As far as my Olive Creme I live by that stuff. I love it soo much. I use that a lot more then the Carrot Creme.

Well I washed my hair not too long ago so now it's time to do something with it. Peace & Love~

Welcome to the JUNGLE!!!!

No fun and games here though. Ok I've hit that point that every transitioner and stretcher alike dreads. You know what I'm talking about.... That moment that tempts you to break down and get a relaxer because you just can't take it anymore. Lucky for me I've hit the "hair gone wild" point BUT I actually have no desire to perm. I mean don't even get me wrong. I do think about how great all this growth would look if I got a relaxer. I would love to see how much growth I truly retained with a relaxer. That being said I'm just over actually having one. It was nice while I had it. Now it's time for me to move on. This wild hair just makes me want to BC now. The only thing is...ok I know this is corny but I was looking forward to the wash and gos. It's almost winter though I won't be able to truly appreciate them during this time. Unless I want to get sick that is.

Since I'm feeling the urge to BC now I think I may not make it to next year. So I'm probably going to do it once I get settled in my new job and start school. Then again like I said earlier winter is coming. That makes me want to reconsider. I'm always cold. Now that winter is coming I'm going to need the extra hair to keep my head warm. lol

You know what I forgot to mention in my last post about my length check. I guess that's what I should call it. Well I pushed it back to next week after I was supposed to do it last week. Well I'm pushing it back again. I'll be doing it the week after next. I'm not sure if I'm going out of town next week but I'm definitely going the week after next. So expect some pictures from that. Also this month I'm going to try a PJ rehab challenge. A personal one. I'm just going to try not to buy any hair products this month. Lets hope I accomplish it. I was going to post some pictures of my new growth but I'm feeling extremely lazy now so look for those in the next post. Well that is it for now. Peace & Love!

Continued...lol

I'm so sorry I'm just continuing my last post. This week was so so busy. I had a job interview the day after my post which is why I didn't finish it. I was in the middle of doing my hair. I didn't finish that until almost 1AM I think. I had to be up like at 7 something so I didn't have time to finish my post. After that my week was non stop between work and church events. When I got home today I passed out. lol No joke. The only 2 reasons I'm really even up was because I've had a taste for ice cream all week and hadn't had any time to enjoy the ice cream I got on Wedneseday. The second reason was because I really wanted to finish the last post or at least continue it. So here I go.

I didn't just get the heat protectant spray from Sally's. I also picked up some more processing bags and butterfly clips. I don't know if it's just me but I keep losing my clips. I have no idea what I do with those things but anyway. On my little trip shopping the other day I also picked up some makeup. I'd post pictures but I haven't even taken any. Which sort of brings me to my next subject. I finally got my YT channel straight. I got a new camera so the sounds a lot better then the first video I made a while back. On there you can see all the stuff I picked up.

Anyway back to my hair. I was supposed to bun it up this week like I stated in my last post. Which I did not. I planned to go back to the buns after the interview but like I said the week was soooo busy. I literally rocked that flexi rod style until tonight. By the time I made it into my room I was in the bed sleep. I didn't have enough energy to do anything except put a hair bonnet on. Surprisingly my curls held up even though I went to sleep on them. When I got up in the morning I just combed them out and threw a headband on and it actually looked good. I think it's actually because of my clarifying wash. I think I may be a little heavey handed. Well I should say I know I'm heavy handed. I looked inside my HB Olive Creme jar and was blow away. I have like a tiny bit left. I just got it like a month ago. What a shame. I love that stuff though. It has to be my fave moisturizer hands down. I like HB Carrot Creme too but it's a protein so I don't want to get crazy with that.

Let me not forget the Castor Oil Challenge at Hairlista. Well I'm taking a break from it. My week(as I've stated a gajillion time) has been too busy for me to continue it. On top of that my new growth is prominent, and I don't feel like moisturizing and sealing then going back and applying the castor oil. I loved the challenge I just have too much going on at the moment. I may pick it back up at the beginning of November or later on this month.

So anyway that is pretty much it for now. TTYL!! Peace & Love<3

Finally!!!

Ok I'm back. Haven't posted in a good while but I'm trying. I washed my hair tonight since I won't have time to tomorrow. I have an interview and a church event tomorrow. I decided to bun it up this week until I got this interview that is. So tonight I'll be doing a flexi rod set then right back to buns on Thursday. Oh yeah tonight I did a prepoo with a mixture of my Lustrasilk cholesterol, Garnier Fructis Strength & Repair Instant Melting Conditioner, coconut oil, jojoba oil, castor oil, olive oil, and glycerin. I don't know why I call that a pre-poo because I co-washed. Anyway I washed that out with my Vo5 clarifying conditioner kiwi lime squeeze I think thats what it's call. I don't think i even needed that because the mixture washed out really well and my hair felt so good. After that I DCed with my Neutrogena Triple Moisture Daily Conditioner and castor oil. My hair is still air drying but it does feel soft. I'm trying to put some moisture back in my hair because before I washed my hair the other day my hair felt so dry. Yet it had no reason to feel that way. So I'm almost convince my relaxed hair is porous.

I originally planned to flat iron my hair this week to see my growth process. I'm going to push that back 2 weeks since I'm going out of town then. Speaking of which I went to Sally's on Sunday. I picked up some hair clips, plastic shower caps, and FINALLY my Silk Elements Megasilk Olive Heat Protection Spray. I have no idea why I wanted this stuff as bad as I did. Hopefully it lives up to my expectations.

To be continued....

I'm not gone yet.

So I haven't posted much the last week and I apologize. I'm working out the kinks on my youtube videos. I did make another one, but I'm having problems with the volume. I did manage to finally get my shea butter. I love the smell of that stuff. I also picked up some more flexi rods and hair bun. So far I'm doing well on my castor oil challenge. I originally planned to start on the beginner one. Somehow I ended up on advanced. Which I technically wanted to do anyway.
One reason why I think I ended up on the advanced one, is because my hair has been feeling weird. Kind of dry like. I'm not sure if its because my hair may be porous or if it is because my hair just drinks up the moisturizer and oil. I'm thinking about getting some of that Roux Porosity Control Conditioner. If that happens to be the case.

I blow dried my hair on Monday. My cousin wanted to hang out and I was in the middle of my washing process so I had to dry it quicker then usual. I usually just let it air dry. I plan on flat ironing my hair out at the end of the month to see my growth process. After that I'll probably get some braids done. I really want to get twist but those are a lot more expensive.

Well that is it for now peoples.
Peace & Love
